Protect Duty Solution was based on the experiences of the two founders in delivering terrorism, security, risk consulting and assessment services to critical infrastructure and major events.

In 2014, the founders developed and implemented a comprehensive terrorism preparedness strategy for one of the largest mass gathering events in the southern hemisphere. The work was recognised by two industry awards: Finalist, Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence (2015) for Special Security Event and Finalist, Outstanding Security Performance Awards (2015) for Outstanding Security Consultant.

Drawing on this experience, the founders developed a prototype risk scoring system in 2015, recognising the limitations of qualitative risk scoring when it came to complex threats such as terrorism. Leveraging big data analytics, real-time data scraping and machine learning techniques, Protect Duty Report (PDR) was released.
